About the Retreat

What is The Vigilant Retreat?
The Vigilant Retreat is a newly-created retreat for Young Adult Catholics in the Charlotte area. The primary goal of the retreat is to inspire one another to "stay awake". The devil works hard to distract us from what matters, and it is so easy to not even realize how sleepy and comfortable we have become.
Through prayer, inspiring & informative talks, small group discussions, the sacraments, and more, it is our hope that this retreat leaves you more vigilant than when you arrived.
Who is it for?
The retreat is for Young Adult Catholics, ages 21-35, who are in the Charlotte, NC area. It is for both men & women, as well as those who are married or single. However, the small groups will be single-gendered, and we plan to have breakout tracks for both men & women as well.
When is it?
Our 2nd Annual conference will be April 28-30, 2023. It is a weekend-long, overnight experience. We will begin in the evening with dinner and introductions, followed by a couple of activities. While we'd love to have you join from the start, if you are unable to get to the retreat until later, we can work to accommodate. We will wrap up early Sunday afternoon (Mass will be in the morning).
What is happening at the retreat?
This retreat will have a variety of elements, including, but not limited to: daily Mass (Saturday & Sunday), adoration (including overnight adoration from Saturday-Sunday), talks from gifted speakers, small group discussions, confession, reflection time, and more!
What is included in the retreat dues?
Two nights' lodging in a private room with double beds + private bathroom, six delicious meals, a t-shirt, a weekend-long transformative experience, multiple excellent speakers, and more.
Who is leading this?
Hi! I'm Katie Cosby. This retreat is something I've had on my heart for many years now. I felt there was a need in the Young Adult community for a retreat. We are at an odd stage in life... sort of an "in between", if you will. But it is such an essential time. And the Lord wants to use us in incredible ways. We just need to be ready to do so! So, here we are: becoming ready. It is all thanks be to God that we've made it this far in the process of this retreat, and He will carry us through to the end! Don't you want to see what He's preparing?!
Anyways, I am spearheading this retreat with the help of many individuals across the Catholic community, as well as the generous support (in various ways) from St. Ann Catholic Church.
How do I sign up?
The Registration form can be found here. Once you have submitted the form, you can submit your retreat dues online via the St. Ann's website-- there is a link to the payment page on the homepage of thevigilantretreat.com and also on the St. Ann's homepage.
Note: This is not the same thing as the St. Ann online giving page, which does include a line item for donations towards the retreat.
Be sure to select "one time" payment and include your name in the box, otherwise, we will not be able to track that you have paid.
Have more questions?
Feel free to email us at StAnnCLTYoungAdults@gmail.com, reach out to Katie Cosby personally, or submit your question through the Chat feature at the bottom of your screen.
May we all have a fire ignited in our hearts. May we not fall asleep. May we stay vigilant. For You are coming like a thief in the night, and it is my greatest prayer that we are ready.
